The Wedding Grift wins 2025 Knoxville International Christian Film Festival Screenplay Silver Award.

SARASOTA, FLORIDA — Burt Wizeman today announced that his first script ‘The Wedding Grift’ has won a Silver Award in the 2025 screenplay competition from the Knoxville International Christian Film Festival on December 20th.

The Wedding Grift is about Zack and Katie Gregor who are married con artists. Zack wants to go for the next big con, Katie wants to settle. When Katie’s mother passes, they are at a decision point. Settle and have a home or pull a con and hit the road. When the law draws closer and the mob uncovers their con, a verse shared from her mother rings true – that the plan all along was God’s.  

About the KICFF – Founded in 2024 by award winning writer, actor and member of the SAG Nominating Committee, Rob Ekno, the Knoxville International Christian Film Festival had submissions from Japan, Mexico, Spain, Canada, Switzerland, Malta, Palestine, Iran, Germany and throughout the United States.

Burt is working on several projects right now including another fictional screenplay and a dramatized bi-opic of the world’s first black golfer who also was the first U.S. Professional golfer.

Burt pens screenplays that honor God and entertain while providing an outreach to the un-saved.
